In US, Can One Play Internet Texas Hold'em For Cash?
Alysa-Holdeman, 2006-12-08 04:52:43
I'm getting into Texas hold'em and play it on yahoo. But there are a bunch of yahoo's playing that seem to go for broke all the time. So I was thinking of playing some texas holdem with some stakes involved. Can one still play poker on the net. I know they passed a law banning internet gambling in US. Would like to play some small stakes tournament or game tables just for fun. Thanks.

- gambling is wrong and, as u stted, you know online gambling is against the law.

- The Online Casino Gambling Directory is the best place to look to find a current, accurate list of such sites along with the site's free, no-deposit bonus offers and initial deposit bonus offers.

- Okay here's the deal.
- Regardless of what some ignorant people have written, the new gambling law is not even in effect at this time.
- It has a 270 day window for the government to decide how to implement this ridiculously badly conceived law.
- So it will be next summer before it really takes effect.
- Even then there are no provisions that actually make it illegal to play.
- The law is focussed on banning financial institutions from transferring money to these sites and banning American companies from setting up business as online gambling sites.
- The bill is a slap in the face to democracy.
- Basically Bill Frist, in an attempt to attract right wing radical Christian voters slipped this bill into an unrelated anti-terror bill knowing it would get voted through.
- At the time he was considering running for President in '08 and wanted to brag about it.
- Unfortunately the very base that he was expecting to support him did not vote Republican by the same margin he was expecting.
- In fact the Republican party got their asses handed to them in the last election.
- So he realized he is just a nasty sleezeball that no one like, and decided not to run.
- It is very likely that if the law is fully implemented at all, it will be very much watered down.
- Many Democrats have talked about reversing it too, since it was pushed through in such a non-democratic manner.
- It was a clear abuse of power.
- So with that rant out of the way, if you want to play poker online for money no one is going to kick down your door and drag you off to some secret government torture camp.
- Hundreds of thousands of Americans play poker online for money every day.
- No one is ever arrested for doing it.
- You can use Neteller or a similar company to insert and withdraw money into your poker account.
- Play for some nice low states and have plenty of fun.
- Poker Stars even offer 1c/2c games. casino sites no deposits to play us players allowed.
- It's hardly high stakes poker!
- Check out the link to some different sites that still welcome American players.
- All of them offer free play money games to try before you buy in for real money. casino sites no deposits to play us players allowed.
- Have fun, and good luck!

- Once you start playing for real money, you will encounter players who probably know more about the game than you do casino sites no deposits to play us players allowed.
- Of course, that's the only way to learn.
- Just don't think it will be so easy to beat people who have real money on the line.
